Who are Cub Scouts?
Cub Scouts are boys & girls in the second section of the Scout Group (8 – 10½yrs) following on from Beavers. A Cub Scout Pack is split into smaller groups called Sixes. Cubs take part in a wide range of activities designed to be interesting, challenging and develop their teamwork and leadership abilities. Weekly meetings generally consist of games, activities and challenges with weekend camps and visits adding to the fun and adventure. Through this program of activities Cub Scouts are introduced to exciting and valuable outdoor and life skills whilst being encouraged to try new things, encourage others and make a positive difference in world around them.

Badges and Awards:
Our Activity Badges allow Cub Scouts to try all sorts of new things and help them form new interests. Staged Activity Badges are available throughout all the sections and allow young people to take on increasing levels of difficulty and skill in each unique area. 
Challenge Awards focus on accomplishing a number of more ambitious tasks within the Pack or local community, these revolve around the themes of; Outdoor & Adventure, World and Skills. The highest award in the Cub Section is the Chief Scout Silver! 

Badges are a way for Cub Scouts to celebrate and proudly display their skills and achievements on their uniform, they are awarded to those who have done their best and completed the badge requirements. See where they go with this handy Diagram:

Moving Up:
Around age 10½, Cub Scouts will start linking with the Scout Troop in preparation to move up to the next stage of their Scouting journey.

Who are the Leaders?
All Scout Leaders in the world are unpaid volunteers, local heroes who generously give their time to provide young people with fantastic opportunities to have fun, make friends and learn new skills. Our team at 2nd Romford is a real mix, some have decades of Scouting experience, some are new to Scouting and others are Parent helpers.
