Who are Young Leaders?
Young Leaders are boys & girls in the Explorer Scout section (14-18yrs) who have chosen to devote some of their weekly time in Scouting to help in one of the younger sections.
The Young Leaders’ Scheme helps Explorer Scouts to develop and grow as individuals. It allows them to make a valuable contribution to their community and give service to others. Here at 2nd Romford we have several Young Leaders in each section, they are essential in supporting the leaders and are well liked by the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.

Badges and Awards:
Young Leaders often begin volunteering with a group/section whilst working towards awards like the Chief Scout Platinum/Diamond, Queen Scout Award and DofE Awards. 
There are also several missions and modules that Young Leaders work towards completing to gain leadership, planning and life skills.
